Style Week Orange County

4:29 PM

As some of you may know, New York fashion week is currently happening, and I am sad to say that I'm not there.  I was hoping, planning, and saving to go to the Lucky FABB (Fashion and Beauty Bloggers) Conference in NYC this week, and get to be in NY for party of NYFW.  Unfortunately that didn't happen.  However, I've made it my goal to be at IFBCON (Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference) and NYFW in the Fall next year, and attend Lucky FABB in LA next Spring.  That probably means I need to start saving and stop shopping (yikes).

Meanwhile, here in Orange County,  Style Week OC is happening!  There are events all week at both the Irvine Spectrum (Irvine, CA) and Fashion Island (Newport Beach, CA) featuring fall fashion, and of course with OC being the home of surfer style, there will be events featuring that as well.

Here's a recap of Style Week OC from 2010

As stated in the Style Week OC press release, "One of the highlights of the fashion festivities will be Fashion’s Night Out on Thursday, Sept. 6 at Fashion Island with Jillian Barberie Reynolds, co-host of Good Day LA on FOX Channel 11, and top American designer David Meister. The Fashion’s Night Out (FNO) celebration will include a style presentation by Barberie Reynolds and a runway show by Meister.

Style Week Orange County will include runway fashion shows with looks from Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdale’s at Fashion Island, among others.  Fashionistas will enjoy numerous in-store events throughout the week, as well as shopping incentives at both Fashion Island and Irvine Spectrum Center."

On Friday, September 7, the Surf-Sport Runway Show will take place at Irvine Spectrum, and will be "an evening saluting Orange County’s popular surf and action sports brands, with a runway show in Giant Wheel Court at 7 pm and numerous in-store events and promotions."

Finally, on Saturday, September 8 is the Fall Fashion and FIDM Cadillac Fashion Show.  At 7pm, a runway show will take place, "spotlighting a variety of retailers at Irvine Spectrum Center, complete with a traditional bridal look for the finale from Demetrios Bride. Spectrum Collection will be preceded by Cadillac: Contemporary Design, with designers competing with original looks using denim and Cadillac car parts," hosted by FIDM and Project Runway Alumnus, Nick Verreos.  This is the event that I will be attending (and covering), and I am so excited!  I will be taking pictures, and hopefully get a couple interviews in, so keep an eye out for a post about this event!

In addition to these fun and exciting events taking place, anyone who spends $250 between September 5-8 at the Irvine Spectrum will receive a $50 Irvine Spectrum gift card!  All you have to do is present your receipts at Guest Services.  If you spend $500 at Fashion Island between September 6-8, you will receive a $100 gift card!!  How cool is that?!

“We are excited about the return of Style Week Orange County and showcasing the season’s best fashions available at these two unique destinations,” said Warren Chaumont, Marketing Director for Fashion Island and Irvine Spectrum Center.  “Involvement by style celebrities such as Jillian Barberie Reynolds and designer David Meister solidify Orange County’s trend-setting status.”
